  I thought it was a Mastiff, but I can't remember how large that dog was. If it was around 130lbs it was a bull mastiff. If it was more, than it was probably pure mastiff. Only difference is that the bull mastiff has...guess...about 40% bull dog bred in. Be wary of health problems if you're thinking of getting one though. The large breeds of this nature have numerous problems and life expectancy is kinda short in relation to other breeds.

  I believe he was a French Mastiff, also called a Dogue de Bordeau.
  I'd love to get one, but I live in an apartment.

      when that movie came out, i saw an interview with the dogs owner on tv who states that the dog's breed was such.
