thirty-five thousand feet above the ground and an eight-and-a-half hour flight featuring this dross... I should have jumped.
Follow Ups:
The only time cocktail, with tom cruise would have been my preferred.
Granted The DaVinci Code is not a tear jerker, but something seems to happen to emotions at 35,000 feet to make average movies better and corny movies really sad. If Hollywood ever worked it out, we would all be up Shit Creek!
I remember watching Forest Gump on a trans Atlantic flight once - at the end there was a whole Jumbo load of men crying like babies. It was pathetic :~)

Grits: "Rewarding, very, very, VERY REWARDING!"
Correct, especially since today's news report of Seattle airport's taking down about two dozen Christmas trees because a rabbi threatened legal action if a menorah wasn't installed.
Nine trees were dismantled and it was the airport that sought legal advice. Apparently the rabbi wanted an 8-foot-tall menorah, lit by bulbs not blessed oil, put up next to the airport's largest tree. The airport objected to the role of "cultural anthropologist". What would Mel do? ;-)
You should be advised that films shown on airplanes are often edited for content.

Please re-read my post. I never wrote that the film you saw in the airplane was edited for content - only that many films are. I have read interviews from directors (Scorcese for one) who note that the editing of the film is the single most important facet of the film which dictates whether the film is as good as it can be. Which is why many top directors either edit the film themselves, or regularly work with the same editors over again because the editor would know the vision of the director. Consequently, if you do not understand that a film edited for content can very much affect the quality of the film, then you know less about film than I thought. But then, you probably knew that, being the film genius you are? Right!
It has an interactive editing feature so you can have hours of fun.
