'Twas Xmas day in the... well everywhere I suppose give or take a time line, but Twelve Monkeys was on TV at mid-day today.
I had forgotten just how much I enjoyed it.
I think Terry Gilliam has produced a number of really good thought provoking movies, although I can understand some people thinking him a pretentious wanker. But those are the breaks I guess.
I even like Brad Pitt in this and that's a good start.
THe way the truth the Bruce Willis character is trying to get at seems to keep moving beyond his grasp is very well done, imo.
Not exactly Xmas-y but then neither am I!
Follow Ups:
is my favorite adventure/sci fi movie, agreed Brad Pitt is a terrific loon and the dialogue and interaction between Bruce Willis and Madeline Stowe is fun.SPOILER...
It is nice to see how she slowly trusts and believes him and eventually accepts him as her protector as well as patient.
the whole end of the movie at the beggining thing keeps me entertained watching how it unfolds time and again.
I am sure this is not a perfect movie but if you accept it as entertainment and let the rest go you will have a good time.
Yes, this movie is very entertaining. It shows how good Gilliam can be when he restrains his self-indulgence.Also it shows Pitt can be a good character actor. He is lousy as a movie star.
