This 2005 film stars Daniel Craig as a historian about as convincing as Indiana Jones the archaeologist.
At heart its a Stalinist re-write of the Holy Grail Holy Blood story about a hunt for STalin's diary through the dusty offices and archives of post communist Russia.
Some parts of it are quite good but some are close to anti-communist propaganda. It has a curious quality about it suggesting it was written quite a while ago.
Its not so much its a bad film as... ahhh IMDB says its a TV movie.
If it comes on TV on a wet and wild Sunday sit in, drink vodka and try to catch the spirit, otherwise sneak away into the night like defectors in search of a better life.
