I gave it a try, thinking I wouldn't care for it. Jane Austen and all that.
I was surprised. Standouts were Embeth Davidtz as Fanny Price and Harold Pinter as Sir Thomas.

Austen makes a wonderful source for drama and the movies have - for the most part - done her proud. Persuasion is another good one.
Austen is great stuff. I used to hate Austen when I was a teen. I know better now.
