Liked your list. Don't forget W.C. Fields "It's A Gift." The scene in his general store with the blind man Mr. Muckle knocking over the light bulb display while the other customer is yelling for his kumquats is a killer! The "Parallax View" is in my opinion, greatly unappreciated. Warren Beatty is terrific as the the reporter hot on the trail of the conspiracy. Very similar is "Three Days of the Condor" with Rob't Redford.
Yes, the scene with the lightbulbs is fall-down hilarious.
No, the Parallax View, which I have just recently seen, was really flat. Maybe when it came out it was shocking or something, but now it seems pretty dull and predictable. Warren Beatty was never an actor, IMHO.
I have not seen, nor heard of, "It's A Gift" by Fields. I shall have
to search for it. He did so much great stuff - and even if a particular
film isn't great, he usually is. The scene in The Barber Shop where
he is putting the hot towels on the guys face is classic; so is the
opening scene where he is stropping his razor!I saw "Condor" once and thought the plot idea was great but the
execution thereof was a little weak. Plus, Redford is usually
just too "pretty" for me.Another one to add to the list is Klute. Best thing Jane Fonda ever
did - except for Barbarella, of course. (God, I just hate that woman
for what she did during the Vietnam War, and cannot forgive her
for it). Mike
Watched The Parallax View twice last month on TV. It was on 6 times in one week - different channels. Very good movie. Yup, I taped it.
