A new film is opening on the 26th, starring Pierce Brosnan & Liam Neeson. It has a great supporting cast as well, with Angelica Huston, Angie Harmon, Xander Berkeley, Michael Wincott, Tom Noonan, and others. John Toll (Thin Red Line, Last Samurai...) is the Cinematographer. Score was done by Harry Gregson-Williams, and it's damn good. Finally, one of my closest friends, David Von Ancken, directed and co-wrote the film. It is a Western called "Seraphim Falls". And yes, this is a shameless plug, because......the studio is not spending money to promote the film. I'll spare you the details. The deal is it opens on 50 screens only, and if it meets a specific per-screen average, it will move to 250 screens. So look for it in the major cities. It's in most of them come next Friday.

...write-up in today's NY Times. I love a good western.
Seriously though, I'm always up for a good Western - as entertainment . It's from Canada though, so I'll wait for reviews. If it's not a topical anti-American political rant I'll see it.
Seriously, I guess I'm not being clear. I don't work in the film industry, and I have no financial stake in "Seraphim Falls". My friend David Von Ancken grew up with a dream of making films in the spirit of "Fistful of Dollars" & "The Wild Bunch", and he has spent the last four years of his life working his tail off to get this film made. So I'm trying to help out by spreading the word...that's all.By they way, it's not a Canadian film. It's a tale of vengeance that stems from a Civil War incident.
.
Do you have the answer or are you part of the problem?
I'm a friend trying to help out, that's all. I don't work in the industry.
