"The Spanish Prisoner" with What's His Name, What's Her Face, and Steve Martin as a bad guy. Different role for him, but he played it well. Unpublicized movie was highly enjoyable with a lot of clever twists and turns.
The woman is Rebecca Pidgeon, Mamet's wife, and she has an album out on Chesky! I liked the movie, too. Try another Mamet film, I think even better: "House of Games".
My girlfriend chastized me as a sexist pig when I referred to Rebecca Pidgeon is David Mamet's wife, so I now refer to David Mamet as Rebecca Pidgeon's husband. I guess Pulitzer prizes don't carry much weight these days. Also, did anyone notice the lack of the "F-word" in this Mamet screenplay compared to his usual?
is Bob Mamet, a pretty darn good smooth jazz pianist. Didn't David do "Glengarry Glen Ross?" He is best known as a Broadway playwright, wright??
I liked "House of Games" better than "The Spanish Prisoner", too. Haven't seen "H of G" in a few years. I may have to rent that one again.
I totally agree! This movie was terrific and a real sleeper. However, this also seems to be one of those movies that people either love or hate. It certainly has its detractors, most of which say it's fake, especially the dialog and acting. These people just don't understand David Mamet and his style. And I absolutely loves Rebecca Pidgeon! (This film introduced me to her music.) So should she sing or act? How about both! For my complete review visit:

Curious.
Well, maybe I shouldn't have been that harsh. It was totally wasted time for me, that's all. I got a lot of boredom out of it, no enjoyment.Of course we are talking about our individual reactions, but I don't recall anything to hang my hat on - and I am quite flexible, I can enjoy many things. But then of curse many folks do get bored at the stuff I like. So life is fair...
Her acting realy sucks, I can't hear her sing any longer (thanks, fellows audiophiles) but she surely comes through as witty and elegant in the interview. Some VERY good answers and completely natural grace.
