...if you enjoy martial arts movies, Tony Jaa is simply amazing and is the next Jet Li/Bruce Lee/or whoever. He was in 'Ong-Bak - the Thai Warrior' a couple of years ago.
He does his own stunts and there is no CGI. One sequence where he goes up numerous flights of stair fighting all the way was filmed in one take.
The plot is superflous but if you want action, this film delivers it in spades.
There is an amusing scene early in the film where he bumps into Jackie Chan in an airport.
I was worn out by the end.
Follow Ups:
Netflix has it too. I just added it to my queue based on your recommendation. Thanks for the tip, I hadn't heard of the movie before.
Yep, crazy martial arts action. Tony Jaa shows a lot more personality in The Protector than he did in Ong-Bak. After seeing Ong-Bak, I was left thinking he was just too wooden to be the successor to Chan and Li. The Protector makes me think that maybe he will be.I think that was the action choreographer(whose name I can't recall) that he bumps into at the airport. I thought it was Jackie Chan at first, too.

Jackie Chan has a rounder face and his surgically-altered eyelids make his eyes look larger.
Jaa interview:- In the film when you arrive at Sydney airport you bumped into a person who is the double of Jackie Chan, Why did you not ask directly to him to make an appearance?
(Laughs) I would like he comes (laughs) but we can't pay for the plane and all expenses just for an appearance of few seconds. It's just a gag, we did it to surprise the spectator and most of people when they watch the film think that he is the real Jackie Chan (laughs) [ Tony Jaa imitate a spectator ] "Oh Jackie Chan!!" (Laughs)

.
...I watched it last nite based on your recommendation. It had way too much silly plot getting in the way of the action.
And not nearly enough action.
I thought the movie sucked but the action was, heck, the action was the movie.
