You would not want to treat you good relative badly, of course, not during that season. So the projector is fixed (again), the screen lowered and the tape ready. It is "In the Realm of Passion". I gently broke that news to my wife over the phone - holding the receiver three feet from my ear. She is finally calming down. I assured her the "sequel" is cut from a different stock. I am putting my reputation on line here, and I also am stocking up the refrigerator downstairs with frozen pizza'a and cheap beer for possible few weeks with no dinners... but who knows, it just might turn out nicely.
How do you spell doghouse? But no matter. I love living on the edge...
Follow Ups:
That would be a just "reward".I particularly loved the scene near the end, where the "he and she" (in the best PC tradion, howbout it?) perpetrators are suspended from the tree on ropes, and merciless blows are beind administered by some individuals (conservatives, no doubt?) with bamboo sticks... brings the toughts of some possibilities and tears to my watery eyes...
Anyway, the movie is not porn. The original "Senses" arguably was. Here we have somethng that is somewhat tedious, somewhat Zen, but mostly an OK movie for the Japanese movies lovers.
I think there ARE far better Japanese films to choose from, though. I woud rate it a couple notches below the Irezumi, and much below Tampopo.
So all in all, here is my ambivalent recommendation, you can do whole lot worse (do I hear "8mm"?).
So - no dog food for me this week...

"Passion" is the one NOT endorsed by Madonna, so you may survive after all.Tonight I'm going to a twelve hour sci-fi/horror film trailer marathon at an "art house" theater, starting at midnight. Dunno if I can survive more than three hours of this junk, but I've got a DVD of "Dancer In The Dark" at home just in case. Bjork's Oscar wardrobe reminded me of Oksana Baiul's Olympic swan outfit (Bjork should have worn a dead bird on her head, too.)

I haven't seen the Dancer yet, so tell us.
I guess I will finally have to put that DVD back in my big system - there ARE goodies coming. Although I must say that you can't achieve the visual effect of All About My Mother on large screen - you need more brightness for all those super-reds (love them!). So that stuff is much preferable on a HD 34" Toshiba tube - for there's none finer.
I am a sucker for brightness and brilliance. A sign of aging, perhaps?

Dan asked the same question in a private e-mail, and I answered. If anyone is curious, I am using the Projectavision DLP. I am 99% 3:4 guy...
