Saw this one on HBO last nite. Basically about some very wealthy lady trying to find out why her recently deceased husband had a 'snuff' film in his posession, and trying to find out if it was staged or real. She hires a detective (Nicolas Cage) to get to the bottom of this, and Cage discovers that the film was indeed real, and he identifies the hapless person who gets 'snuffed'. He gets involved in the seedy underground of porn to get some clues...It is riveting.

You are joking right?
I agree with Ed. I personally think the movie is trash with no redeaming values. But Ed, disagreeing with 4.5 out of every 5 Americans - doesn't that make you feel strange?
As they say, just my two rubles...
It takes courage to disagree with majority. But, it still sucks.
I don't think anyone's disagreeing with the majority here...when 8mm came out it pretty much got trashed by the criticsc--which is what it deserved!Doug Schneider
Joking? Absolutely not. This film got a 4.5 out of 5 stars review by over 100 film enthusiasts on amazon.com Granted, a classic it is not, but it had all the elements of a good action crime thriller, and then some. The joke's on YOU!
I agree with the others that this movie sucked. I would rather see Gone in 60 Seconds again.
Amazon.com ratings are like Audioreview ratings - consider the source!Ask 100 "average" americans on the street today what the best movie made was and 75% I bet would give you a film made post-1975.
Are they right? probably not
do they know any better? No.If I have to hear one more person wax poetic about Gladiator... ugh!
Glad you liked it though!
