Arnaud Desplechin's three hour long opus is tedious and boring, and in spots truly idiotic. If you have three hours to kill - read a book... heck, a magazine, even...
Cut that monstrosity down to hour and a half, and then perhaps it will gain some momentum, as a few observations could be considered compelling.

From full plus, through half this half that, to full minus.I am now curious what AuPh has to say... let's face it - it was nearly as long as LoTR!
> > > "...let's face it - it was nearly as long as LoTR!" < < <If length were the only qualification to a film achieving greatness then the unabridged Heavan's Gate would probably be on most critic's Top 10 Lists. Of course, LoTR is a masterpiece as rightfully determined by both an overwhelming consensus of the critical press and viewing public, but to get back to your original query: the closest I'll likely come to viewing Kings and Queens in the forseeable future is a) when finessing an opponant's bridge hand or b) reading your's and patrick's posts from a safe distance. ;^)
