from a great talent. Jacques Tati reminds me a bit of Buster Keaton, with a bit of Stan Laurel, Cantiflas, and Harold Lloyd thrown in. The film is a classic in every sense of the word. It would be one of my 10 films for a desert isle.......

the term "...bad Jacques Tati" made me remember something.Several years ago I was in the mens room at work, in a stall... and someone walked in, walked over to the urinal, unzipped, paused and started saying - with feeling - "Bad dog!" "Bad Dog!"
Needless to say I remained very quiet. That someone was a producer for Nickelodeon and before anyone thinks the worst, a little later we had to record a temp VO for the piece he was working on and he read it and, you guessed it, it included that phrase "Bad dog!".
Until then though, I was pretty weirded out.
