about US torture and organ harvesting in Iraq. It was apparently a blockbuster in the Muslim world. Good Ol' Gary Busey plays the stereotype psycho American.
What tiny percentage of American movie goers do you think even knows where Persia is located? Makes the Iranian reaction even funnier.
I think most of the soldiers in Iraq could tell you where that is.Maybe the Americans who would know were the same kids who played "Where/When in the World is Carmen San Diego?"
As for me, I was a philatelist and studied archaeology in third and fourth grade. So that's how I knew.
.
It's where they make Persian rugs.
I thought he was ripped off from the original "Stargate".....
.
The only characterization of Persians allowed is a positive one... created by Persians? What a bunch of assholes... they'll be protesting for weeks!Ah yes, Iran, the global centerpiece of tolerance, human rights, and peaceful coexistence in the world community. Tee-hee!
I can't wait to see this film! "Persians are depicted as decadent, sexually flamboyant and evil..." That's GOLD!
Lets not out prejudice them. you might be disappointed in the depiction of Persains in 300. they are not exactly portrayed as evil at all. Xerxes is certainly portrayed as decadent and flamboyant but he did see himself as a god as well as a king. Hope you enjoy it anyway.
the WH. Massive occupying force next door in Iraq.
Damn, those Iranians sure are a paranoid lot, how'd they ever get the idea this is NOT just a fortuitous occurrence?
Our 140K compared to their million man army? not to mention the terrorists from the region who would certainly join them. If I was Iran, I wouldn't worry about the ol USA, I'd worry about the Israelis as they get closer to nuclear capability.
Of course there are a few people pissed off. Hey look at the dorks that protested Dogma. But I hear that for the most part no one cares and in fact the movie is quite popular among the under 40 crowd and is making the rounds via bootleg. It reminds me of the few fools who tried to sue over Borat.
