Check this out. In the part where the father is crawling on the floor after Gary Oldman and others shoot up Matilda's family Oldman stands over him and shoots him again. The next scene shows the man on the floor and you can see a white pellet drop onto the guy's back, like it rolled out of the gun. There also appears to be one in his hair.
