Follow Ups:
either, such as "Stroszek."
You ain't seen crazy Klinski till you've seen that one.
He also made another film, "Woyzeck" with the same street guy from "The Enigma of Kaspar Hauser."
You might ask him why he decided to make a "fiction" film of his earlier documentary of "Little Dieter Needs to Fly."
I may have erred a bit on the titles...but they're understandable to him, I'm sure.
While you're at it, tell him you know a guy who has lurid taste and wants to see the video footage of the Grizzly Man getting chomped...
The only movies of his I've seen are Nosferatau, The Lochness monster mockumentary and Grizzly Man. I've seen bits and pieces of Aguirre and Fitz but that's it. If I like these as much as I expect to I'll check out some of the others for sure.Apparently there is no video footage of the Grizzly Man getting chomped. The lenscap was on the camera so it was just the sound of it.
destroyed.
A VERY interesting film that will be a great background preparation.
I took your recommendation and rented this last night (I had it on my Netflix list but there's no way it would get here in time). I also have Fitzcaraldo here but, obviously, will put it aside in favor of the screening. What a crazy pair those two were... and Herzog... who almost seems like an innocent victim of Kinski's madness turns out to be just as mad and a MASTER manipulator as well.
Too many laugh out loud moments to recount but WH is quite a storyteller.
I was also taken by how matter of fact he was in recounting people getting hurt in plane crahses or cutting of their own feet or getting injured when Kinski bashed them over the head with a sword or getting thrown through air and cracking open their hand and head, etc.
Thanks for the tip... this'll make Staurday more fun.
