I must admit I'm not that drawn to most present day french films. I find them either 'talking head' style or just plain stoopid.
The last I saw was Jeunet's 'Fabulous Destiny of Amelie Poulain' which was a little light, but quite worth seeing, I felt.
Before was 'Les Rivières Poupres' by Kasovitch but it was a letdown after the excellent book.
Haven't seen Aberdeen - if you get to see it, let me know how it was.
Have you seen 'Les Enfants du Paradis' - that's an all-time favorite of mine?

Most definitely. About thirty years ago in Leningrad. My wife loves it, I am a bit softer towards it.
BTW, there is another film about Lacenaire - "The Elegant Criminal" with Daniel Auteuil. What a bunch of French kaka...
