film. Not excellent or necessarily very good but better than average because of the thoughtfulness in the making and the superb performance of the main character (thought the supporting cast also is very good).
The issue here is immigration, spiced up with a credible love story between a Danish plumber and a Chinese illegal immigrant that needs a "green card husband."
The film eschews easy sentimentality, Hollywood sweetness, and Bergman-esque heaviness for a more even approach to divorce and marriage.
For those seeking a "message" film about immigration: you will be disappointed.
The director chooses a feather instead of a hammer and is far more effective for doing so.
Follow Ups:
...singular. Small but important difference. The main character was called "Kinamand" by his Danish friend(s) behind his back.
