Hi chapsI missed this when it was in the cinemas. I thought it was fantastic - great acting, great characters, great original storyline, etc. Although the subject matter was gruesome (Vic - don't watch this or you will die of apoplexy!), it was handled so well and intelligently.
I couldn't find much discussion of this movie in the archives - has anyone else seen it? Am I deluded in thinking it's a minor masterpiece?

I liked the dual storylines and how they converged at the end but the subject matter is horrific. I thought Joseph Gordon Levitt was over the top and the movie dragged a little but who cares. I agree it was pretty good overall.
was about, i.e. genre or...
there are two main characters, one thinks he was abducted by aliens and the other is a gay male prostitute. One of them has questions about the past and we eventually find out what happened. It is a film with secrets and it takes you on a few personal journeys. It is pretty shocking though not necessarily surprising.

It's about the nature of the human spirit and how we can imagine things to cover the painful events in our lives. And the pain of realisation.
I saw it when I believe it had no certificate and there was a fuss from the usual outraged right wingers here.
The film was the star of the Brisbane International Film Festival and won the award for (and I might have this vaguely wrong) best humanitarian film.
It is a stunningly good film as I remember it.
