I though I was already tired when we started watching it, and I was, but I quickly forgot. The best film about music? Hard to tell, but an incredibly enjoyable two hours, music, actors that act, for God's sake... beautiful human faces. Beautiful because they are human.
I think we need to pass an international law that Sweden must produce a couple of Titanics and few Pearl Harbors before making another one like this. Otherwise it is unfair, and it makes us feel bad, and it ain't good...
Anyway, lots of fun while, and lots of thinking after, and not much concern regarding the hero's sexual orientation.
And here is more - that opera has NOT been one of my favorites, but now I want to hear it again.
So once again - thank you. E-mail me the return address.
Ah, yes, highly recommended. Have you seen her other works? I'll check my local sources. She apparently started quite late. Good thing she did.
Follow Ups:
Hey guys....Was this one about Mozart ? I seem to remember hearing something about a film about production of Don Giovanni, with lots of sex in it. Is this the one or am I miles off base ?
Steve
It IS about the production of that opera, and yep, there are some sexual undercurrents...You can see more about it on imdb.com
Hi VictorAny idea where I can find this gem ?
Steve
www.bestvideo.com has it. Their deal is $17.25, return postage included, which is not unreasonable if you can't find it elsewhere - less than a cost of a trip to Phily for us. Their number is 203-287-9286 and their service quick - I received today the copy of "Come and See" that I ordered yesterday, it came Airborne Express. If they didn't have it I would have to ask Clark's permission to lend you my copy - the one he gave me.

Thought you'd enjoy it! But how too, too typical that this really, really fine movie should be so unknown, even to cognoscenti. Not only is the video difficult to find, but it showed here in theatres a total of *twice*! I made the early show from a critic's recommend, then called all my movie friends and told them to see it in the evening. No one did. You're the only other living person I know, who's seen it.As to representation of classical music, I'll get you a copy of Intimate Lighting if you can't locate it.
No need to return it; it's a spare.

Oh BTW -- it's from Denmark!
