How is this possible!?! I was much more thrilled when I saw "Cool As Ice" and "Fair Game", as I realized that neither Vanilla Ice or Cindy Crawford would be allowed to act in another film. And don't forget "Showgirls"; Nomi kept me on the edge of my seat wondering if she would ever pronounce "Versace" correctly! An injustice has been done.Inmates: let's hear about your Thriller choices that didn't make the AFI's list.
Follow Ups:
Sorry, Wrong NumberThe Hidden
Dreamscape
The Long Kiss Goodnight
A Boy and his Dog
To name a few.
Not that it's a Great Movie. The opening ten minutes (I just saw it recently for the first time) were so violent I almost gave up on it, but there was some retribution for that. And not once, not twice but *three times* it turned in a direction that this keen viewer found totally unpredictable and each time was a THRILL! Plus the final shot... WHAT A SHOT!clark
(Anyone else?)
Yep, this rates as a definite gulity pleasure, much like that little gem Tremors.

Wow! "The Searchers" isn't on the list. I'd have included several more classic Westerns. Even a slow-paced film like "Shane" is more "thrilling" than many on the list.
Guess which well-regarded (and recently discussed) American director's films didn't make the list. Maybe he doesn't "thrill" critics, either.
Which one?At first I too was surprised they branded many of those films as "thrillers", until I read the title - I guess a film doesn't have to be a thriller to thrill.
I agree with klaus, The Usual Suspects was well, quite thrilling...
As I acknowledge the impossibility of selecting any top 100, I must point out the lack of such all time favourites of mine as Seven and
Lost Highway ... IMO certainly more of a thrill than some of the otherwise fine films included on the list.Thom
Having seen probably half of that list, I can hardly identify six movies as 'thrilling'. Hear the voice of protest: they included James Bond comedy (isn't that British by the way) but skipped Pink Panther! In the name of Sir Charles Litton I want it there! What else comes to mind from the recently seen tapes and what was really thrilling:
Glengarry Glenross
The Usual Suspects
Emperor and Assassin (oops, not American)
In checking the list I have seen them all except:Strangers on a Train
Touch of Evil
Laura
Gaslight
Safety Last
Adventures of Robin Hood
Braveheart (have seen about an hour of it)There are some great movies on this list. There was a movie "Last House on The Left" which was quite a thriller!! Scared the crap out of me when I saw it.
