I watched The Sorrow and the Pity a few weeks ago and was discussing it with friends recently. In some respects it seems the people of France have still not come to terms with the things that went on there during the war.
This appears similar to Japan where acknowledgement of the things they did in China appear to be unmentionable in the public forum.I guess the next generation will have to find a way to bring closure to these subjects in their respective countries.
Perhaps a Japanese film could create a break through for the Japanese.
