it always happens, a movie about technology is released, and we have these loser jackballs that immediately have to pick it apart and analyze what could and could not become true.i'm talking about AI, an awesome movie, and final project of my favorite director, Stanley Kubrick; some dumbarse on slate has to take an artificial intelligence doctor to see it, and wants to know what exactly could be true and what couldn't.
why can't people go to movies and be entertained anymore?
AI isn't supposed to be about reality, so why are people trying to ruin it?
i saw AI as a very enjoyable 2 1/2 hours, not a homework project.

And be disturbingly amazed.
The same kinds of things were said about Star Trek until Stephen Hawking claimed that warp drive was theoretically possible...some people love to analyze everything to death...they read one to many volumes of Aristotle I think- who I admire- but c'mon already. One expert means zilch...and the film is set in the future(I have not seen it yet) so what the hell maybe the laws of physics or whatever have changed...humans often think they are too smart. I'm glad I'm an alien
Speaking of Star Trek and physics I really recommend, " The Physics of Star Trek " by Lawrence Krauss. It is really interesting.-best regards,

I just read your post as I was reading this in a book, thought is was an interesting coincidence." The breakpoint will surely be when machines show us not only how to do things superhumanly, as they do now; but also what needs doing, as is beginning to happen. "

***i'm talking about AI, an awesome movie, and final project of my favorite director, Stanley Kubrick; some dumbarse on slate has to take an artificial intelligence doctor to see it, and wants to know what exactly could be true and what couldn't.If you are referring to the EWS - then I agree, it didn't need to be analyzed and taken apart, it should have been simply ignored. And Kibrick IS one of my favorite directors, although most definitely not THE ...
But could you please explain to me why all those comparisons to Kibrick? That sounds to me like a ploy by Spielberg himself, planting this idea in people's minds, in his desperate attempt at achieving "greatness" if not by artistry, then my manipulation.
There is nothing in his previous work that providea ANY foundation for such comparisson. This one? I will wait till it is shown on free TV for my judgement but somehow I don't expect to be surprized.
So why drag Kibrick's name through all this mud, why not compare Spielberg to Richard Gere or Steven Seagal - something that would be more appropriate?
After all, Kubrick IS one of my favorite directors...
We got the message a long time ago. Enough already.Kubrick started the project and died in pre prod. That's why his name is coming up so much when AI is mentioned.
***We got the message a long time ago. Enough alreadyAgreed. You got me there. No problem.
