You liked? I thought the film was rather slow, and without motivation in the case of the main character (Deniro). The "suprize" ending was just the opposite for my friends and me when we saw the film last week. I agree with the comments on the quality acting though. Too bad the movie wasn't up to par with its stars.

You're right, the plot was strictly conventional and there were no surprises, but I give it points for being well-executed and acted. Also for being filmed in Montreal. Which brings me to my main gripe: why doesn't anyone except for the two club workers speak French, the official language of Quebec?
