The only thing worth mentioning about this Italian film is that it is innofensive. In a typical Hollywood context that fact would mean something, but not from the standpoint of higher standards.Nice folks and naive story, too long at two hours... not enough to make sure you will remember it for longer than a couple of hours.
All in all, the movie Gods were definitely taking break while this film was made. Even Bruno Getz's presence doesn't save it.
And that Vera Zasulich reference? Well, that one most definitely went over the American audience's head. They need to be more careful with these, them Euro-decadents.

and I would also say it looks at the issue of what is really important in your life: accepting the status quo/fear of change vs. courage/spiritual growth/happiness. I was touched, but I liked "The Closet," too. Jim.
