I just purchased the Silence of the Lambs DVD and was surprised to find it only provides FULL-SCREEN. When I fired it up, the screen, '..modified to fit your screen' screen came up.Anyone know if it truly only plays in 16:9, or is it 4:3?? I have a 32" 4:3 screen. However, the image didn't look stretched.
On the MGM site it says 16X9 format. It doesn't provide letter-box, at least I can't get it to play back in letter-box.
It suppose to be the new Special Edition.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Vince

I tried it. I can go from 4:3, 4:3 letter-box, 16:9 on my player and they all look the same.I read the tech info on Amazon on all three DVDs for Silence, all three DVDs have attributes independent of eachother. There's the old DVDs no dolby 5.1 and out-takes. Widescreen version has 5.1 DD, out-takes, enhanced color. Special Ed. ver. has everything but letter-box aspect ratio.
I have a friend that doesn't enjoy letter-box, he prefers 4:3. Poor bastard. Well, this will make a nice gift for 'em.
Thanks!
