My wife can do the same thing (and I'm getting a clue). She's big on opening sequences
- can usually tell whether the film will be satisfactory within half-a-minute (give or take).

When we went to American Beauty she whispered to me within that half-minute: "we're going to buy this one" - meaning it was going to be "A-List" for us.
