  Cyclo is a vietnamese gang movie similar to Godfellas & Donnie Brasco. It's a France\Vietnam production from the director of l'Odeur de Papaye Verte and À la Verticale de l'été.

  I have seen Cyrano de Bergerac when I was in high shcool during a french class and I didn't like it. Might be different today, taste change when you grown up. Les misérables is a good one, but I was expecting more.

    You might want to check out the 1950 production with Jose Ferrer as
    Cyrano, it is also highly regarded. Also, a 1945 film with Claude
    Dauphin as Cyrano, and 1923 film with Pierre Magnier. To my knowledge, there have been 6 TVM's of CdB. - AH

    Cyclo is not too bad, a bit too gruesome and OK for a Vietnamese film, but not much more.

    Cyrano is a wonderful film, you probably should revisit it.

  Quite amusing story about 2 bent cops in Paris who become caught out & are replaced by two even more bent cops. Excellent acting & some funny one liners! Recommended.

  One classic from French Canada we found amusing was "The Reality Show". It was a precursor to the rubbish like "Big Brother", "Survivors" etc which HAVE actually occurred.

  We like most of the French films shown here on TV and are fortunate the national broadcaster SBS shows so many.

  With Raimu ( The Best ever french movie actor ) this is a master of a film,a class on his own, one between quite a few,mostly by Marcel Pagnol,playing in the Provence,With actor like Fenandel or his own wife,and around story a la Jean Giono,the Maupassant from above Marseille,again the same humanity but with the sunshine-a MUST- for south of France lovers !
