Cought the tail of it on cable last night. Shooting was of course quite idiotic, but with few good moments. Anyway, it looked like there were three groups - who were they? Was Caan good guy or scum? Del Toro apparently not good - right? Could someone give me a ten-second summary? I don't think I would need more.
Follow Ups:
If you like the Mexican don't see The Way of the Gun. If you thought the Mexican sucked see it. Personally I thought the Mexican sucked
Skip it. Trust me.
That much I was able to figure out. I didn't tell you that I saw a minute or so of it in the beginning, so I switched. But my question had to do with one simple fact - you know, sometimes something this silly sticks into your mind and keeps bothering you. I like Del Toro, and here he was, with his .308 Galil professionally slung over his shoulder on a compbat harness. Gee, that's a good start I thought! So he's got to be a good guy, I thought. But then it got confusing... Typical Hollywood kaka, except for that great piece when the guy jumps into the fountain...Anyway, I can guarantee you one thing - even if I can't beat the answer out of you guys I am not going to rent it.
BTW - how did you like the Usual Suspects? There was a glimpse of hope that that one I thought.
I just love Pete Postlethwaite and his ho-hum acting, so I thought that was HIS movie. Kevin paled next to him, and everyone went like crazy: Kevin, Kevin, Kevin... But Pete is real class act - remember the Brassed off?
I don't know about U.S. and P.P. I saw that movie, but wasn't crazy about it w/ or w/out PP.
BTW, A Zed and Two Noughts[Greenaway] is just what the title suggests - nothing. A complete waste of time for me.
The only innocent in the entire film is the baby...Gunmen kidnap pregnant girl. Call baby's father for ransome. Shot by hired-guns when trying to take possession of ransome money. The End. (well, until *that* day anyway).
You're right...you don't need more than 10 seconds on this one. But the thing is I saw the whole thing in the theater and can't for the life of me remember anything. Why? It was instantly forgettable. You're right, it had moments -- very few mind you, but a couple. I think Caan was bad, but Del Toro was not.If memory serves me (and I would just have to go to IMDB.com) this was written and directed by the guy who wrote (but didn't direct) The Usual Suspects.
