I remember when the Clint Eastwood "Sudden Impact" was filmed here in my home town in Santa Cruz... and "Out on a Limb" in near by Boulder Creek. I was wondering if hollywood has made it out to your neck of the woods, if so what movie? Thanks!
Follow Ups:
When I grew up, I worked at a state park that used to be a coastal defense base during WWI. Movie crew turned into an academy for "Naval Aviators". Got to see the fight scene btwn Lou Gossit (sp?) Jr. & Richard G.
Lots....The Salem, OR are is very popular with filmmakers. One Flew Over the Cukoos Nest.....
The Shining (nearby)
Can't remember the title...The recent prison breakout picture with Bruce Willis and Billy Bob Thorton.
The General (1926-Buster Keaton)and more.....
was filmed just down the road at the Phoenixville movie theaterthat theater is still in operation by the way--a nice place to see a film without the multi-plex horrors movie-goers have learned to accept.
whereas the Phoenix Steel Company, the soul of this little town on the Schuylkill, is long gone.
Glacier, Washington. Glacier was passing for a Pennsylvania coal mining town in the movie. The deer hunting scenes were filmed nearby Mt Baker, a volcano.
Interesting. I always wondered where that mountainous terrain was shot, cuz it sure as heck wasn't western PA! The steel mill scenes in Deer Hunter were filmed in the town where I grew up - Weirton, West Virginia - about 35 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, in West Virginia's northern panhandle.Cool.

There always seems to be a crew hanging out and filming in Niagara On The Lake, Ontario Canada. The features "The Dead Zone" (a Stephen King pic), Trapped in Paradise (never saw it, but watched a crew set up for it), and the upcoming Charles Bronson movie "The Farm" had an over night shoot here about two weeks ago.
There are a ton more that I can't remember! We also have ghosts, if you are into that stuff as well (this area was a MAJOR battle ground for the war of 1812!).
Cheers,
Dman
Sounds like a good movie! I'll look for it when it comes out!
The Score with Robert De Niro was filmed in Montreal.
"Snake Eyes" with Nicholas Cage is another and some of "Driven" with Sylvester Stalone were in Montreal.

When I was at law school at the University of Southern California, there seemed to be film crews and actors' trailers every other day. The most famous scene that I can think of off the top of my head are the Berkeley scenes from the Graduate.Oh - and they wanted to film the opening party scene to Foul Play in my parents' house (great view of San Francisco and the GG bridge), but my mom didn't want them tearing up the floors - so they filmed it in the house just below us.
Part of "Traffic" was filmed at the Statehouse in Downtown Columbus. At least we didn't come off as badly as Cincinnati!"Teachers" was filmed downtown at a closed school (now replaced by a science and industry museum).
"Shawshank Redemption" was filmed in Mansfield, Ohio at an old prison.
Central Ohio doesn't get the film productions that Cleveland and Cincinnati seem to attract. Oh, those Indians and Larry Flynt!
