Tinsel is something superficially attractive but of little real worth. That is how I felt about that film. It was pleasant with good actors doing their best... but not much substance.
By substance I mean something that keeps you coming back to the film in your thoughts, sometimes months later. That one you enjoy and forget, move on. But I can't tell how many times you recall in your mind the 8 1/2 or The Seventh Seal.
