Very well written, superbly acted, a great look and a "music theme" to boot for all the audiophiles. My wife, who is a detail freak, had some minor criticisms, but this movie should be nominated for all kinds of awards and probably won't be. Great performances from Kate Blanchet (sic?) and, can you believe it, Harry Dean Stanton, in supporting roles. If you're a thinking boy or girl, this is a great movie.
Follow Ups:
I had to pull the plug 1/2 way through, and I am very tolerant of leisurely paced films - this was mired and miserable.
Though It could be edited back into something reasonable.I think it trys to hard to be an art film, and misses.
Its a phoney. I am a Blanchette fan, this is why I rented it, and I should agree she was good - not as good as "elizabeth" or the recent thriller who's title escapes me.CNAOPOBNY
