"Fight Club" is probably the most uncompromisingly male-oriented film I've seen in years. If Ernest Hemingway directed a film, this is probably what it would be like (including the paranoia and schizophrenia). Ed Norton puts in another fine performance (his confrontation in his boss' office will stick in my mind forever), Brad Pitt pushes the looney envelope again (as in "Twelve Monkeys"), and Meatloaf has bigger tits than Morganna the Kissing Bandit. I don't think many women are going to understand that men would much rather pummel each other silly than talk about their feelings in support groups. Probably the worst date movie since "Showgirls". Let me put it this way: Guys, if your girlfriend dragged you out to see a Jane Campion film festival ("The Piano", "Portrait of a Lady", etc.), revenge is at hand!
I saw it in a sneak-preview since Holland is backwards in releasing movies, so it hasn't premiered over here, but I've been thinking a lot about this movie. I think it's original and compared to Hollywood-standards it's Unhollywoodish in idea and subject. Shame there were a lot of inconsequences and the movie should have ended half an hour earlier instead of explaining everything, leaving no things to really think about left. I've had some laughs and rewarded it with a 7 out of 10. (Only 'Festen', 'The Icestorm' and 'Mifunes Sidste Sang' received the doubtable honour to be rewarded with a 10.)Technically spoken, it was you who...

You're right. She did drag me out to see those films and it seems I extracted my revenge last night. She hated it - didn't get it. The trouble is, she'll reciprocate next week with a womans passion. I don't look forward to that :-((((
On today's Rosie O'Donnell, she opened up the show with a scathing review of the film, saying that it does not resolve its issues, promotes violence and destruction, and should be rated NC-17, if not banned entirely!Rosie, resolve THIS! (gesture unresolvable using this font)
Yeah Rosie thinks her s@#% doesn't stink!MiKe
A lady friend of mine saw it last night and realy liked it. I asked her if she thought it was a guys flick and she said she got past that crap in the first couple scenes. She said it was very disturbing...But liked it.
