  Not my favorite movie, but my wife loved it, so I think I will buy it. The actress had a sad life, being a "horizontal collaborator". Hypocricy rampant in that nation.

    It was a sad time, with lots of people making their own personal choices...Maurice Chevalier certainly got away with lots, didn't he ?

    I remember the movie "Lacombe Lucien" fondly, and the treatment of the subject.

      That is good point, and perhaps another great film where the hipocricy of the newly discovered indignation and outrage is shows in the Uranus - great job by Depardieu and chilling story of Communist mob mentality.

        I can't wait for "Going Places" and "Get Out Your Handkerchiefs" on DVD...should be out soon...the first film being, the first truly
        "scary" films I saw, that wasn't a horror film. It was being frightened by Depardieu and friend's personal hoodilumistic terrorism and indiscriminate crime spree!

        As a lifestyle it was, to me, communicated perfectly by everyone involved. Jeanne Moreau gave the film a great emotional "ending" of sorts.
