Just was curious whether you have seen Ettore Scola's "Down dn Dirty" and what is your opinion on that film?
I rate Scola EXTREMELY high as director, but here is is not just not a household name, he is pretty much unknown to public. I find this disappointing. All his films that I have seen were extremely interesting.
Did you see his Passione d'amore? What an unusual film that was. Did you see the lead actress in other films? She is completely unknown here as well.

No, I have not heard of this, but wouldn't mind checking it out. I like a good director... is Scola anything like David Lynch?

I think I saw this film years ago, Victor. About a dysfunctional peasant family living in the hills of Italy? I didn't think much of the movie, if I recall, but I'll refrain from forming an opinion on Scola as I've not seen any other of his movies. I'll put Passione d'amore on my list.

  Perhaps his most accesible film and full of good images too is "The Family" with Vittorio Gassman (RIP).
