Excellent. You must have either read the books or looked it up. I didn't know Gertie had a last name.I remember it like this:
"Lt. Tragg to see you, Mr. Mason."
"Thank you, Gertie."
Gertie was the unseen voice over the intercom in every version I've seen. Much like Carlton the Doorman.
BTW, you're the first person in 30 years who has known that. Everyone always says Della Street.
I read some of those novels when I was a teen. I guess her name stuck in my head. Never watched the sitcom. :)
