I'm also a fan of the Caan Rollerball. It's a great flick. As for the "remake" I would say you were too kind.
I'd say it was "less than zero" but that would insult the title of a pretty good film. It makes Gone In 60 Seconds look like King Lear by comparison. Rollerball must surely be the worst film so far this year.
Of course, wait till next week and producers will probably roll out something even worse - if that's possible.

I've no trouble with that idea. It was, just, well, almost NOTHING can ruin a bag of popcorn, and that movie did.

  I'd love to be in the pitch meeting for these remakes...how could ANYONE screw up something like a remake ?
