I thought the DVD was a lot funnier than I remembered from seeing the film in a theater, but the deleted scenes point an accusing finger to Kevin Smith and the confusion and lack of focus in this film (is it revenge against Hollywood, a gay bashing film, a comic book culture story, an attack against internet bulletin boards, or?). I think the funniest scene (unfortunately deleted) is when Jay replies to the Hollywood hooker asking him if he'd like to do something "nasty."
Follow Ups:
WHAT! A theatrical scene is deleted from the DVD?! Say no...clark
The DVD of CARWASH is quite a bit different from the original film. firstly, Danyy Devito bought his way out of the film -- he's nowhere to be found on the DVD.Secondly, when Melanie Mayron was about to go on her big date with that jackass at the end, the cut out the clip showing that it was to be a double date and she was only going to be a tag along for his walflower friend. this drastically changed the meaning of the whole sequenced and the DVD viewer is led to believe that she went on the date and planned.
On Disk 2, Deleted Scene #28: "A Dream Date with Jay, A.K.A. the Hooker Scene."Also noteworthy is Deleted Scene #12: "Scooby Nights" (in which Scooby Doo is just happy to see you).
I just can't understand the appeal of alleged comedies like these.I'm thinking they are just generational expressions of timely mind farts, that have nothing to do with what we really think comedy is, but just totally mindless and harmless exercises in our desparation for Escape from our everyday lives in the New Millenium ! What is it they call it on Tv now...."Current Classic". Give me a break !!!!
Nothing wrong with that...except when it goes over the line to pretend to be something to be included in the pantheon of Humor. Elevating this stuff any higher than the street gutter is going tooooooo far.
To me it's just vulgar garbage. I don't get it. I don't want to get it, if you know what I mean. But then I'm not in grammar school anymore so I'm not supposed to get it. Another tasteless grab by the movie studios for some of that teen disposable income.
Exposure to oxygen guarantees this stuff will spoil after a few days. A Big Stink Bomb !
And I say this with all due respect!
Take yourself too seriously = Realizing life is short; to short too waste on crap.

I accept your comments..it's ok !It's still garbage !
Come on...doesn't ANYONE else think so too ?
