Hi Dr. Phibes,
I saw the film last night and I thought it was exellent too. I have a friend that lost her leg there and I was being very critical about the true facts and I think this movie got it right on.
Being from Maine and in and out of Boston all my life I can tell accents. John Goodman could not do a Boston accent. There were others too. When the scene of the covered boat and that guy from Framingham not budging for the FBI guy on the roof, that was a real Bostonian!
Other than that it was superb and your right about the ending Dr.Phibes......Mark Korda
Follow Ups:
Mark - I'm sorry to hear about your friend ... and I'm glad you liked the movie too.Even I, a New Yorker, could intuitively tell the "covered boat guy" was the real deal but I believe the "guy from Framingham not budging for the FBI guy on the roof" was actually a woman- I wouldn't want to mess with her!
Whatever little flaws the film had, the "star" of the film was the unified spirit of all the good people in Boston.
Thanks for your response and have a great day- Jim
