Maybe not.
This is the story of three hapless criminals (Brody, Malkovich, Culkin) who stumble into a vast abandoned warehouse escaping a heist gone wrong. At first, they escape the police but are trapped and need seek a way out so as to meet their getaway van. While looking for a way out they discover that Culkin is a smack addict trying to rig a fix. As he looks for a running tap he comes across a very bloody and fierce looking fighting dog, DeNiro. What our small-timers don't know is that several floors down is a fighting pit run by Banderas (very cold machine of a gangster) who rakes in tons of money fighting and electrocuting the losers and winners.
Through the film, both Brody and Rory have heartwarming stories about dogs they loved only to be quieted by the ferocity of DeNiro pursuing them throughout the warehouse. There isn't much of a happy ending here but enough of one to be acceptable to the audience.
The performances were good for such a "small" film shot in Bulgaria where they used five different warehouses to create a monster one. The real story is in the special features that show the chief dog trainer and the many dogs used to create the action. Very informative and a dog-lovers delight.
If you love yer pooch you might settle down with him and watch this Red Box delight together.
