No. Just because a tv has 3 line digital comb filter, its not hdtv ready. Sony makes a 32 in. WEGA that has a 3 line digital comb filter and is not HDTV ready. Since I'm new to this, I would suggest going to a manufacturers home page and look for yourself what the model is capable of.
BTW, what are you buying it for? Meaning, do you watch mostly cable, DSS, or DVD?
Actually I bought the Sony27" Wega. I got a deal on it from Circuit City since I found it on sale for $749 at abt. Circuit City reimbursed me $120 so I only paid $730. Not too bad. When HDTV's come down in price I'l have had my monies worth out of the Sony. I',ll be watching DSS and DVD's on it.
