Were these dogs or are they just unloading to introduce another model. I was going to get a HT receiver in the $750 price range used. I'm not a big movie buff but with these going at $7-800 it is tempting to go separates. Am I missing something here? Is this a good deal or should I just go with original plan? I will be running it thru the processor loop of my 2 channel, so I'll need a 3 channel amp. Next question. Can you run just 3 channels of a 5 channel amp or will that mess up the amp? Thanks for the help.

If you want separates, might as well get the Aragon Soundstage. Its now on ubid. Remember, these were originally $4000. I would get one but my wife would kill me based on how much I've spent this year already.Oh, Adcom has had some reliabilty/operability issues with the GTP-750, which is why they rushed out the GTP-760. I can't speak on that.
For that kind of money, you might want to check out the new preamp from Outlaw that everyone is raving about at hometheaterforum.com and other HT website. One even compared it to Lexicon. Prepare for a long wait though, since there's a long list of people waiting to buy.
I went with the Adcom piece as well as an adcom 3 channel amp and am really happy with the purcahse. I originmally had a higher priced Bryston Sp-1 and found I liek the Adcom piece 98% as much plus I was able to funnel money into my two channel set up. I bought mine new in the box for 900.00
Good luck

No, it won't hurt anything to run three channels on a five channel amp. There are a few three channel amps made (I have one), but most seem to be five, sometimes six or seven nowadays. There are some inexpensive monoblocks also available, such as the ones Marantz makes.Todd
