Is there a way to improve my cable signal? I have split my main cable feed and I am getting a poor signal on my new line. Is there a way to boost the signal? Also, can electrical lines cause interfernce if it is located near the cable?

I'm assuming that when you only had one set hooked up the signal was
adequate. If, after the splitter was added, both lines were poor then it would probably be a signal strength problem.
If only one run is bad, it usually points to a poor connection somewhere on that run. I'd look for a poorly connected "F" connector there.
They will install the proper splitters ,and if a line or distribution amp is needed they will put it in - free.
What type of splitter are you using? The $2 special found in the dollar store? Try a Monster Cable splitter, does a much better job.
I got a powered 4-way distribution amplifier from Radio Shack about 10 years ago, and it seems to do a pretty good job. I have not had very good luck with simple splitters.Todd
Thanks
