Unfortunately, my cable provider only has cable boxes with coaxial input and outputs and not video/audio outputs. I would like to be able to use my HT system when watching movies and other shows off cable but am not sure what the best way to connect my a/v receiver. I could do it through my VCR but I think that's far from optimal and I am hoping there is another solution. Thanks,
Dan

Doesn't your TV have audio-out? I believe that's a pretty common feature these days, even on relatively cheap TVs.
I hadn't originally thought about using the TV tuner. I have a new Mits 65" and so I figure it should provide a better feed to the receiver than my old VCR, but I will try both out and see if there is a noticeable difference.
Believe VCR is best option, I did it for years before going to digital cable source. Of course you have to be recieving a stereo signal through your coax and you probably are if your TV plays in stereo. Also I believe you can use audio out from Tv if so equipped.Hope this helps
