Hope someone can help me or suggest something to try. I have only had my 9000es dvd player a few weeks. I was watching a dvd video and noticed a banding line on my 27" sony tv, the line is horizontal and scans up the screen. It's about and inch high and scans from bottom to top continuously. I don't notice it in all scenes, but do with continuous dark or light scenes, it very visible. I tried the player on a set in another room and it does the same thing. Does anyone know what could be causing this? I have the dvd player going straight to the tv, i have tried it with both component and s-video cables, as well as on progressive and interlaced mode. Do i have a defective unit? Thanks for any info.

Thanks guys!I am mailing it back to J and R Music for a New replacement. They agreed that it should not do this.
Thanks for your help.

This is the visible artifact of a ground loop in the video signal chain.Try different interconnects and see if it continues to exhibit the behaviour.
If it does, send it back in for repair.
