Since I'm not sure where I'll get a better response, I'm going to post this in both Cables and Video:Hello. After waiting for over a month, (employee purchases go to back of line) I was just notified my backordered InFocus 110 projector will be picked tomorrow, and that's good. But I also realized I have a setup problem since I don't have 30' component cables or interconnects. My DVD player is for video only, so I suppose I could use either, but from reading these forums, it seems that long component cables are preferred and I may end up with a single universal player at some point. I don't want to skimp but I also don't want to waste money that could be better spent. So far, the cheapest cables I've found of the Belden/Canare type is a 25' run of 1694A/Canare for $67. Can anyone tell me if this seems reasonable or if there are better options? The Canare L-4/5CFB type cables seem more expensive. Any adivice would be welcome as I'm new to projection and have never dealt with video cables.
Thanks,
OBF

...especially when terminated properly. Hey, you can get better cable, actually outstanding cable, for less than the money you're talking. One place to check is the 'Asylum classifieds under "Cable."Best of luck.
I think V3-5CFB would be better or a triple run of L-7CFB.Belden has the plenum cables, which are made of teflon. Those should be best.
For 30ft run, you definitely should not skimp.
I have two sets of Transparent Component video cable. one 50ft run of high performance and one 50ft run of the premium. These cables make a huge difference in colors and everything else for that matter. Don't skimp on your cables here...especially the long runs. One connects my DVD player, the other connects my hd sat tuner.
