Nothing, except no coaxial output for my DAC, which I would like. See below, I changed my mind... RP56's are still selling at or near full list in the Toronto area, which is $250. RP62 and RP82 are the same price or cheaper. I needed another DVDP, and NOBODY around here was willing to sell me an RP56 for a reasonable price, yet I managed to negotiate $160 for an RP82 with little effort. Weird...
Follow Ups:
Hi Craig;I have been look for a good DVD player for some time. I thought that the Panasonic RP
56 looked promising. It has now been replaced by the RP-62, but I have yet to see one.
When I was looking through the Video Asylum I came across your post from March 25.“RP56's are still selling at or near full list in the Toronto area, which is $250. RP62 and

Thanks,
Joe
There was a sale on, even applied to "unavailable" items. The RP62 is supposedly available now, but I haven't gone looking for one. The RP56 is working just fine, so it's not like I really need anything better for my TV etc., and when the RP82 arrives I will compare them closely.
How did this (old) post appear like this?
Thanks for the prompt reply Craig.I don't know where the old post came from, but it is still there.
I'll check out Sear.

the newest post to a thread causes the thread to bubble to the top. Doesn't happen in the other forums, that I've noticed. May be some kind of setting I have, so just my view?
I should mention that I got an extra 10% off by using the Sears card. This happens quite commonly, so pick when you buy, and is why I got the Sears card. I didn't have one when I got my Sony TV there several months ago, so applied on the spot for instant discount besides the sale price. (I guess they hope to make the money back by their exorbitant CC interest rates, no luck from me...) Since you are in Canada, RS sells the RP56 and has some stock. If you have a VISA, you can get 5-10% off by using it at RS, something not commonly known, I forget the details as I don't buy lots there, just the odd small part.
