No...S-Video is said to be skoosh better than component. Also,
Just the video info. is utilized with S-video...no audio there.

And Todd is spot on. S-video is dramatically better than composite with component a smaller step up again. If you can use component then do so and research the cable to use for maximum benefit. I have seen praise for BetterCables

but you cannot get progressive via the S-Video...which kills S-Video still in the water!Sam
May not be that important if the monitor include good quality line doubling. I've tested this with my Toshiba and you really have to look hard to see the improvement from a progressive scan source. It's there, but in actual viewing its absense takes away almost nothing.
