Trying to catch Minority Report this weekend. The newspaper listings denote theaters as either Dolby, Dolby Digital, DTS and SDDS (Sony Dynamic Digital Sound).
Which one is gonna be the best sound?
Follow Ups:
The movie sucks apeship. Read the book amigo and save the 10 bucks.
Or maybe ever since he started directing.
If under Kubrick, it could have been completely different.
...to tell that particular story.
I saw "Conspiracy Theory" in a THX certified theater once and they used DTS. It was the cleanest sound in a movie theather I have ever heard. I saw "Cast Away" in a local theater that was built about 3 years ago and the sound was off-balance, too loud on the loud parts and too quiet on the soft parts. They were also using DTS. It is just a matter of how the theater is set up. The balance of surround and front has to be perfect in most listening areas(75%) of the theater seating area for any of the formats to sound good. DD&SDDS are good, but DTS is the best of the three.
go for DTS or SDDSSamM
