Hi. Just received a new Signature 2.0 preamp today. Have not been successful with setup, though. I only get audio through the tuner. At least I know the interconnects between the preamp and the power amp work.I only have one source, a Sony DVP-NS700P. All the preamp's inputs are assignable. I cannot get any audio out regardless of which digital (coax) input I use, nor with any of the 2 analog inputs that I've tried. I've tried reassigning the inputs several times, and rechecked cabling and connections. I know the cables and source work, because I didn't have a problem with the Marantz SR7200 they were connected to previously.
Thanks in advance,
Joey
I USED to own a H/K 2.0 and I may have some bad news for you. Unless you just don't have it connceted right which doesnt seem to be the case, your processor is broken.I bought one of these processors in 1998, thankfully with Circuit City warranty added on. Within a year's time I had three different 2.0 processors break down. Each time with a problem similar to what you are describing. The tuner always worked, but the analog inputs, digital inputs, or both kept failing. On one of them it failed within the first five hours of being turned on. No one ever gave me an explanation as to why, but thankfully Circuit City refunded my money in full after. A year in which I had only been able to use the processor for half the year, the rest of the time it was being repaired or a new one sent to me.
check the DVD players setup, on most Sony models you must select the output type to get the thing to work at first.Sam
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try to fiddle with the DVD player's setup menu. What I don't understand is, if routed through the Sig 2, I get no audio from the DVD player's analog outs, but if routed directly through my power amp, I get audio from CDs. One other thing I found out is that the test tone generator has no output either. So the problem seems to lie with the Sig 2. Software glitch?Best,
Joey
